broken arm

I finally did it.  i broke a bone.  my left humerus to be exact.   i fell in our house and it snapped a few inches below my shoulder.  it happened jan. 1st, great way to start a new year.  i have to wear a soft splint on my shoulder and entire arm, then i have to wear a hard plastic thing on my arm for 18 weeks plus physical therapy.  the pain pills constipated me.  i have not had a good year so far.  it’s too hard to type with one hand so i wont be commenting or blogging much at all.  iwill miss you but i will still be reading ypur blogs!  keep me in your prayers please.

Daughter

My dad was trying to convince me that my 11 yr old daughter understands the value of a dollar so that he could give her the money that she needs to buy a guinea pig.  She was told that she has to earn it, because honestly, my kids are spoiled rotten.  Anyhow, we were talking about a shop that we went into this morning and the jeans to fit her were $150 and I said that she would want them.  Well, my dad, being who he is, HAD to prove me wrong.  He asked her if I offered her the jeans would she want them even though they were a ridiculous amount.  Guess what my money conscious daughter said?  “Well, duh, yeah I would want them!”  HA!  Nah nah nah nah boo boo!

Myself

I went to Bath and Body Works with my mom today and man am I a happy woman!  They were having wonderful sales on  everything.  I was a madwoman running around grabbing what I wanted.  I got lotions, shower gels, creams, sprays enough to do me for a long while.  I ended up saving 120.00 which made hubby really happy.  The sale is continuing through tomorrow, so if you live near one, I suggest you check it out!

Just a little warning for anyone that is well-endowed.  When you are in Wal-Mart and notice that your boobs are spilling over the top of your bra, don’t grab your bra to let your boobs fall into it.  Sure as you do, some weird looking man will walk by and see you do it.

Ok, here is the story, short version.  Hubby had a really good job.  One he liked.  One that made it good for the family.  Now, he is thrown back into a job that he hates, on nights, not good for the family because we won’t see him.  He is working the next 11 days with 1 day off.  Twelve hour shifts.  Less money.  Crappy job.  PLEASE DON’T SAY AT LEAST IT IS A JOB!!!!  I have heard that so much that I will hit the next person that says it!  Seriously.

Life stinks.  It’s full of big fat boogers.  I don’t want to talk about it.  That’s all I want to say for now.

Daily life

I have a question for all of you cooks out there.  Have you ever made peanut butter balls that were so gooey you couldn’t roll them into a ball?  Mine were gooey yesterday so I got them into a ball-like shape and stuck them in the fridge to sit for a while.   I will be drowning them in chocolate today.  I tried to thicken them up with a little extra powdered sugar but it didn’t work.  Any suggestions in case it happens again?

Hubby will be away tonight so we will be having whatever we want for supper.  I’m sure that little man will want Ramen noodles.  He could live on those.  I’m afraid that he is getting sick.  He cried in his sleep 3 or 4 times last night with his throat.  This morning when he got up I asked him if his throat was hurting and he said no, however, his eyes looked weak.  Everyone say a prayer that he isn’t getting sick and is just tired.  I hate it when kids are sick at Christmas.

I must jump off of here and go dip those balls in chocolate before I forget them!  Everyone have a wonderful day!

Daily life

Just a few days left until Christmas.  I have everything wrapped that needs to be, now I have to get some boxes for a few things.  I still need to get my dad something.  He is so hard to buy for.   It has been really cold here lately, just no snow.  I wish that it would snow a foot!  I love the white stuff.  I’m thinking about having a fire today, maybe not.  Who knows?  I know that I am fixing fried potatoes for dinner tonight though.  Yum.  That is all for now.  Later taters!

Christmas

Well, we are finally finished shopping for the kids.  We went out Saturday to the mall, Toys R Us, and Walmart.  I was completely worn out by the time we came home.  I am kind of glad that we waited so late this year because we caught some really good sales.  Hubby buys our daughter a snowglobe just from him and he got her a really pretty one from the Disney store half price.  I also am finished with my mom and my grandmother.  Now I need to find my dad something and then we are done.  Woo hoo!

Our daughter loves to help out in the kitchen so last night I let her make chex mix and hard candy by herself.  She chose strawberry flavoring for her candy.  It was so odd to watch her doing it alone.  She did a really good job.  Everything turned out perfect.  My baby isn’t a baby any longer.  I guess I should be sad, but I’m not.  I’m happy that she is turning into such a wonderful young lady.

I have to get off here and clean the house.  Yuck.  Any volunteers to help?
