Daily life

Ok, here is the story, short version.  Hubby had a really good job.  One he liked.  One that made it good for the family.  Now, he is thrown back into a job that he hates, on nights, not good for the family because we won’t see him.  He is working the next 11 days with 1 day off.  Twelve hour shifts.  Less money.  Crappy job.  PLEASE DON’T SAY AT LEAST IT IS A JOB!!!!  I have heard that so much that I will hit the next person that says it!  Seriously.

Life stinks.  It’s full of big fat boogers.  I don’t want to talk about it.  That’s all I want to say for now.

I have a question for all of you cooks out there.  Have you ever made peanut butter balls that were so gooey you couldn’t roll them into a ball?  Mine were gooey yesterday so I got them into a ball-like shape and stuck them in the fridge to sit for a while.   I will be drowning them in chocolate today.  I tried to thicken them up with a little extra powdered sugar but it didn’t work.  Any suggestions in case it happens again?

Hubby will be away tonight so we will be having whatever we want for supper.  I’m sure that little man will want Ramen noodles.  He could live on those.  I’m afraid that he is getting sick.  He cried in his sleep 3 or 4 times last night with his throat.  This morning when he got up I asked him if his throat was hurting and he said no, however, his eyes looked weak.  Everyone say a prayer that he isn’t getting sick and is just tired.  I hate it when kids are sick at Christmas.

I must jump off of here and go dip those balls in chocolate before I forget them!  Everyone have a wonderful day!

Just a few days left until Christmas.  I have everything wrapped that needs to be, now I have to get some boxes for a few things.  I still need to get my dad something.  He is so hard to buy for.   It has been really cold here lately, just no snow.  I wish that it would snow a foot!  I love the white stuff.  I’m thinking about having a fire today, maybe not.  Who knows?  I know that I am fixing fried potatoes for dinner tonight though.  Yum.  That is all for now.  Later taters!

Daily life

Boy, it  has been a while since I was here.  I have been too busy to post, rest assured I haven’t given it up.  I am going Christmas shopping with my mom tonight, hubby and I are going tomorrow and whatever I don’t get, won’t be bought.  I simply refuse to go back out after tomorrow.  The crowds will be horrible.  It’s supposed to rain heavily tomorrow.  I love rain, but not to drive in.  My house is a mess.  I have laundry on, dishwasher running and so much more to do that I am at a loss.  I also have to go to the post office today to pick up a package.  I believe that it is some books I ordered for the kids for Christmas.  At least I hope so.  I have my cards finished yet they sit waiting to be sent out!  Ugh!  Guess what else I have been doing?  Go ahead, guess!  Ok, I will tell you.  I have been making hard candy.  So far, I have made cinnamon, wintergreen and peppermint.  I have to say that they have turned out perfect.  What I don’t have to tell you is how incredibly easy it is to do.  I am going to let dear daughter do her own, that should tell you how easy it is.  I have alot of other scents to try out and I am going to put them in some really cute Christmas bags I got to give out to people.  Cheezy?  Who cares!  Well, I must run because I have a rumbly in my tummy.  Have a good weekend!

We still have some snow on the ground today.  Enough to cancel school again!  I think that God knew I needed to be able to sleep so he allowed it.  Little man only woke up 3 times last night so he did better.  For some reason though, my head hurts today.

It is cold outside!  I like it though, it should be this way for Christmas.  I remember wearing shorts and a t shirt on Christmas day.  That just doesn’t seem like Christmas.  Has anyone else been watching Christmas shows?  I haven’t been watching them like I usually do.  I think that I will watch them today though.  I have one VHS tape that is old cartoons.  They are black and white, cheesy old things and I love them!  Noone else here does though so I will be watching them alone.

Well, I hope that you have a wonderful day.  I am off to make some hot chocolate!

Daily life

Well, we got through this weekend in a blur.  It literally seems like we didn’t have a weekend.  Did anyone happen to watch Shrek the Halls?  We taped it and then watched it last night.  In true Shrek fashion there was plenty of nose picking, farting, belching, etc.  Our family, being the freaks we are, loved it.  It was truly funny and a break from the same old stuff.

It is really cold here today.  We could possibly get snow flurries, I am hoping that we do.  I love the cold and snowy weather.  Of course, I like all the different seasons.  Hence my name, Seasonal mama.

What is coming up this week?  I have no clue.  I know that daughter has to stay after school for play practice a couple of times.  Surely that can’t be everything for the entire week.  I’m sure something will creep up.  Well, I must go for now.  Have a wonderful day!

I’m going to start off by saying that I love WordPress.  It is so much easier than Blogger.  Plus, I love the templates that are offered.  Blogger was really boring in my opinion.  I think that is why I got to the point that I hated to post anything.  So, I would definitely suggest anyone giving WordPress a try.

We have to get up at 6:30 on Saturday for an academic meet.  Gag.  I hate to get up early during the week, but the weekend?!  Everything is going good at school so far this year.  I am afraid that she is going to get her feelings hurt though.  One of her friends is having a birthday party Saturday and my daughter is never invited when she does.  I think that it is because when she was younger, everytime she tried to stay all night with this little girl, she cried and I had to pick her up.  Oh well.  I will have to cheer her up and hopefully it won’t bother her too much.

I woke up at 3am this morning because of hubby snoring.  He is killing me!  I love him to death and don’t want to sleep in separate rooms.  Last night, I was getting my son to sleep and heard him all the way in there.  They wanted him to do a sleep study but he didn’t do it.  We know that he has a deviated septum and probably sleep apnea.  His snoring is outrageous and it doesn’t matter how he sleeps.  I think that he is going to have to go for it soon though, that has alot to do with why I am so tired.

Well, I must jump off of here and get busy.  Have a good day!
