Braces!

I hate our weather because we go from 70 degrees to 30 and snowing all in the span of 3 days.  I am ready for spring, for petes sake!  Daughter got her brackets on today.  After 2 appointments next week, she will have her braces complete.  She isn’t thrilled to say the least.  They are rubbing the inside of her mouth and it couldn’t be at a more perfect time.  Her play is Friday and Saturday.  She has speaking and singing parts.  Hopefully, she will be more used to them by then.  Her orthodontist called tonight and checked on her and told her that if she needed to, call him on his cell phone.  Can you believe that?  I like him and everyone in his office is just as nice.  She likes all of the people there, so that helps.  Well, I am tired so I may actually go to bed early tonight.  It is only 11:18 pm and that is early for me!

Here’s hoping she adjusts to them okay before the play. Braces are no fun, but I will tell you that our son (who’s been out of them for 5 1/2 years) recently saw a pre-orthonotia picture of himself and finally thanked us for making him get them.

Did they give her any wax to put over any brackets that are really rubbing? You can buy it, but our dr. always gave us little packs of it.
It can really help with the rubbing problem until she gets adjusted.

Be ready for her to be really sore once the wires go in. Some pain reliever (Advil, Tylenol) and milkshakes will probably be in order for 2 or 3 days. At least that was our experience both times around.

    Good luck with the play!
