Aggravation

I am so aggravated.  My daughters school is a really good school.  I like it alot for her.  However, they have started a new rule, if you don’t turn your homework in you have to be at school at 7:30am to make it up.  School normally starts at 8:15am.  She came home today and because she turned in a homework paper and got a bad grade on it, she has to go in tomorrow for it.  Did I mention that this is the first bad grade in math?   Did I also mention that homework doesn’t count?  You don’t even get a grade on it in the book!  Yet, they want her to be there at 7:30!  How idiotic is that!?  She has an A average in math, yet they want her to be there 45 minutes early because of a paper that doesn’t even count?  If she doesn’t go, then I have to go to school, and it goes in her permanent file that she didn’t attend a required class.  Now, if you know me, you know that I don’t have a problem going to school.  I do, however, have a problem with her permanent record having that on it.  What to do, what to do.  Did I mention that I am aggravated?

Daily life

I’m going to start off by saying that I love WordPress.  It is so much easier than Blogger.  Plus, I love the templates that are offered.  Blogger was really boring in my opinion.  I think that is why I got to the point that I hated to post anything.  So, I would definitely suggest anyone giving WordPress a try.

We have to get up at 6:30 on Saturday for an academic meet.  Gag.  I hate to get up early during the week, but the weekend?!  Everything is going good at school so far this year.  I am afraid that she is going to get her feelings hurt though.  One of her friends is having a birthday party Saturday and my daughter is never invited when she does.  I think that it is because when she was younger, everytime she tried to stay all night with this little girl, she cried and I had to pick her up.  Oh well.  I will have to cheer her up and hopefully it won’t bother her too much.

I woke up at 3am this morning because of hubby snoring.  He is killing me!  I love him to death and don’t want to sleep in separate rooms.  Last night, I was getting my son to sleep and heard him all the way in there.  They wanted him to do a sleep study but he didn’t do it.  We know that he has a deviated septum and probably sleep apnea.  His snoring is outrageous and it doesn’t matter how he sleeps.  I think that he is going to have to go for it soon though, that has alot to do with why I am so tired.

Well, I must jump off of here and get busy.  Have a good day!

Conversations from the back seat

For anyone who doesn’t know, I have an 11 yr old daughter and  5 yr old son.  This was overheard on a drive last night.

Son: People who don’t have Christmas lights don’t have the Christmas spirit.

Daughter:  That’s not true, maybe they just haven’t put them up yet, or maybe they don’t have the money to put them up.

Son: They don’t have Christmas Spirit.

Daughter:  Yes they do!

Son:  NO THEY DON’T!

Daughter:  Yes they do!

Son:  Why are you arguing with a 5 yr old?

My daughter hushed then.  You see, that is what I say to her.  ALOT.  Both of my kids will argue if they think they are right.  Too funny.

Thanksgiving

What a week!  Alot happened around here, that’s why I haven’t posted any.  My uncle had a heart attack but he is doing fine now.  They had to put a stint in and he has to go on medication, but it could have been alot worse.  We drove around a couple of times looking at Christmas lights.  That’s always alot of fun.  We put the tree up, actually, I didn’t do anything.  Hubby put it up and we let the kids decorate it.  It looks pretty good if I may say so myself.  They had alot of fun.  I made dinner at home with my mom and dad here.  That was alot of fun.  I overate though.  I mean enough to make me miserable!  Hubby was off 5 days.  That was nice.  Oh yeah, we went and saw The Bee Movie.  It was pretty funny.  Now today, everything is back to normal.  Daughter is back in school, hubby back to work, me cleaning and cooking.  I can’t wait until Christmas Break!!!!

Thanksgiving

It is only a week until Thanksgiving.  That is such a huge holiday in our house.  It’s all about the food, the family, Macys parade and watching It’s a Wonderful Life, then The Grinch.  My parents are coming to our house this year for Thanksgiving and I am glad.  We always stay home for the holidays because that’s how we like it. It’s so nice to be able to relax in your own home while cooking and eating.  When we got married, we decided then that all holidays were to be spent at home.  Don’t get me wrong, we go to our families the day before and spend time with them then.  It’s just that the day of the actual holiday, I like to be at home.  I enjoy tradition.  I hate change.  I have to have a turkey on Thanksgiving and a  ham on Christmas.  I need to hunt out my apple pie recipe to see what I need to buy for it.  I make it and my chocolate pie from scratch.  I’m talking I peel the apples people!!!!  My hubby loves it and honestly I love to make things for my family that they enjoy.  I can make a killer cornbread dressing also.  I just wish that I liked apple pie:)  That is why I make chocolate also.  Well, I must jump off of here, I heard the dryer buzz.  Later taters!
